Garbage collection in iphoneos?

Ik vroeg me af toen ik wat cocoa documenten aan het doorlezen was: doet de iPhone wel aan garbage collection of is dat alleen aanwezig in de desktop sdk? Ik hoorde namelijk hier iemand zeggen dat de iPhone run-time geen garbage collect.

Is dit waar?

Verschillende websites vertellen me dat iPhone inderdaad geen garbage collection ondersteund. Wat onderwets. ;)

Note: iPhone OS does not support memory management using the garbage collection feature that is in Mac OS X v10.5 and later.

Garbage Collection: The iPhone SDk does not currently support garbage collection unlike the SDK for normal Mac OSX applications where it is an option. This is not too horrible, but it does require you to be VERY careful with memory allocation. Using the SDK reminded me more of developing in C++ than C#.
