A small post to summarize the work done until now. Because of some legal problems we have delayed the opening of the orders. But now we will focus all our efforts to be able to accept orders on the 31th of July. The final product photos and videos will be presented on this date too.
On the software side we have solved a lot of bug and have quite finished the driving directions support.
Many have asked the following questions:
- Will this software be compatible with firmware 2.0 ? Yes it will be.
- Will the software be on the AppStore: No. Because of the very restrictive conditions of use of the Apple SDK. Moreover the serial port is not accessible anymore on non-jail-broken devices.
- Will the software be free: Yes.
- To which countries are you shipping: Worldwide.
- Does driving directions work in my country ? Check on Google Maps. If it works on Google Maps, it will work in xGPS.

De beloftes zijn best ok, maar ben toch altijd benieuwd naar persoonlijke ervaringen van mensen... om te zien of ze de beloftes ook daadwerkelijk waar maken :)

Waar ik wel benieuwd naar ben, en misschien dat dat al best ergens vermeld staat hoor, is of deze gps module ook herkent wordt door software welke geschreven is voor de iPhone 3G.

Ik hoop dat het het wachten waard is... :D

Ik had deze ook besteld eerder deze week. Heb juist dezelfde mail teruggekregen zoals Bomans. Ik wacht nu ook ongeduldig af.

Ik denk dat ik hem ook maar ga bestellen... Toch een gok, als het niks is heb je 45 euro voor niets uitgegeven...

Minder goede nieuws voor de evetueel geïnteresseerden:
Concerning the hardware question, we will not produce anymore xGPS Modules. However we have still a few pieces in stock and they will be sold when the time comes (in about one month).

Maar het werkt dus nu ook samen met deze GPS ontvanger: GPS for iPhone - Holux M1000b package

Gisteren een kleine testrit gedaan en moet zeggen dat ik onder de indruk ben. :eek:

Update:

Vandaag is v1.0.1-4 van de navigatiesoftware uitgekomen. Nu is ook de i360GPS module ondersteund. En voor de 3G gebruikers onder ons, het werkt ook met de ingebouwde GPS ontvanger (maar dat was al een tijdje zo)!
