Navigon een kopje kleiner maken
 

Zomer 2009 was hier op iPhoneclub al een artikel te lezen hoe je Navigon een klopje kleiner kon maken (Navigon MobileNavigator Europa kopje kleiner maken met Winrar/Stuffit - iPhone - iPhoneclub.nl) waarbij je een zip programma nodig had.
Toevallig ontdekte ik gisteren deze instructies, waarbij je hetzelfde nog simpeler kan doen (en dus zonder zip software)
LET OP: ALLEEN VOOR MAC OSX (sorry voor de windows gebruikers onder jullie! )

1. Backup, backup, backup… (if you hadn’t)
2. Copy .ipa from iTunes – you can simply drag it to the desktop
3. Change file extension from .ipa to .zip
-select the file and use key shortcut COMMAND + I (or contextual menu Get info)
-in the field Name & Extension change the extension to .zip
Now press enter and click Use .zip
4. Now double-click the archive to unpack it. Be patient, it will take a while…
5. Open folder and go to Payload. CTRL+click on NAVIGON.app, select Show Package Contents
6. Delete unnecessary .map files.
7. Drag edited .app to iTunes Application section. It will be automatically converted to .ipa
8. Now you should have a lot smaller .ipa. In my case in less than 200mb .
9. Sync with device.

Op die site staat dat je illegale software (via Cydia) moet installeren, om een aangepaste .ipa te kunnen synchroniseren in iTunes met je iPhone. Dat is echter niet waar, ik heb precies deze instructies toegepast op mijn niet- gejailbreakte iPhone!

LET OP: Je verliest naderhand de mogelijkheid om je "Extra's terug te zetten (zoals Live Traffic) dus dat is wel een dik nadeel. Hmmm maar afwachten of iemand hier een oplossing voor weet...?
