Hallo,

Heb mijn iphone net gejailbreakt naar 3.1 en push werkt niet meer.
is er al een manier om dit op te lossen?

Op mijn 3GS werkt de Push fix ook niet

nou dan heb ik slecht nieuws.
deze uitslag bied helaas geen constantheid, maar wel een vleugje hoop :P
op mijn iphone 3.0 3gs (wit) uit amerika due unlocked en jailbreacked.
werkt de pushfix wel om bv: ping! aan de praat te krijgen.

Ik heb de nieuwe 3.1.2 op de telefoon ook uit de USA.

Push mail werkt ook niet behalve als ik fetch aanzet

Wellicht zit hier een kern van waarheid in?

There is no way to "fix" push. Apple is simply not letting you enter their private garden per se.

My understanding is this:
During activation process, a valid device will contact Apple servers for validation. If they see that you are using a valid sim card for your phone (IE: AT&T sim card on an AT&T phone), they will generate 2 digital signatures for your phone -- one for YouTube, and the other for push.

The signatures' public key is probably something your device knows, so it can make use of it to do what it needs to do -- talk to YouTube, and push server. The signatures' private key is only known to Apple, so there is no way third party can generate the signatures for you.

When a device is connected to the push notification server (owned and operated by Apple), the server will ask your device for the certificate, and use that as an authentication token. If you don't have a certificate, it won't let you in. Once you are in, Apple recognizes you based on that particular token. So when an application's developer -- say for example BeeJive IM 3.0 -- contacts Apple saying there's an update for so-and-so, Apple looks at the tokens and deliver the message.

The "PushFix" that was released a while back was a method to extract/inject certificates to your device, so your device can provide a certificate when requested.

This brings up a problem:
Without a proper activation, you won't get your digital signature that is unique to your device. If you used "Push Fix" to inject with someone else's signature -- chances are, that is shared by many many many MANY people by now, Apple doesn't know who to send the notification to... and so it sends to whatever most recently connected device... could be yours, could be someone else's. In theory, Apple could also ban the certificate from using Push, so no one will get the notification from that set of certificate. Additionally, in theory, Apple could also be sending your device's UUID to their push server, so they could ban your device from using Push services all together forever. Even worse, if they do have your UUID, they know you've made modifications to your phone (App Store doesn't have applications that will allow you to inject other people's signatures into your device), so they could in theory void your warranty.

So. How does Push suppose to work for Jailbroken users? In short, it doesn't. Not unless Apple release the private key for the certificates, so we can generate the certificates for you.

However, the release could benefit some people... maybe a small handful.

Say if you are me, and you have a Rogers iPhone, and a Rogers sim card, but you want to use Fido as your service provider (Yes, I know I should've just found a Fido phone instead, buzz off of my case), then the push fix have some merits.

When I restored my phone, I first used my Rogers sim card to activate it. As such, I get my own unique certificate from Apple to activate YouTube and push. Jailbreak using RedSn0w, and extracted my certificates from the phone. I then wipe it again -- so the carrier data and other stuff doesn't stick on the phone -- and hacktivated it using Fido's sim card and RedSn0w. Finally, I used the push fix tools to inject my own certificates back into my device, and of course, because no one else is using my own certificate, Apple will deliver my push notifications properly. However, from now on, each time I need to do a full restore, I must repeat the process to get my push notification to work -- well not really, I have my signatures stored safely, so I can just re-inject without having to re-extract.

I've heard some people use their iPod Touch certificate on their hacktivated iPhones, but I don't know the milages on that. Maybe it'll work, but probably only one device can receive the push notification, and you don't know which one it will be...

If you find an easier solution, please do keep us updated though. Would really love to know how to make the restore process easier for myself...

Geactiveerde sim, push werkt niet
 

Hoi iedereen,

Ik heb mijn iPhone 3GS OS 3.1.2 net gejailbreakt met behulp van Blackra1n RC3 op windows (beschik geen Mac, anders had ik PwnageTool gebruikt). Ik gebruik een geactiveerde (tenminste denk ik) prepaid simkaart van T-Mobile. Mijn iPhone abbonement gaat pas eind december in, daarvoor heb ik een andere simkaart.

Alles werkt nu gewoon, alleen doet mijn Push heel erg raar. Ik weet niet precies of hij nu werkt.

- Als ik een nieuwe emailbericht krijg, hoor ik wel een geluidje en staat er een kleine 1 bij mijn icoon. Maar ik krijg geen popup message... (is dit push?)
- Ping! werkt niet bij mij.
- WhatsApp die werkt wel maar ik krijg geen push berichten, ik kan alleen chatten met mensen als ik het opstart. Anders worden mijn nieuwe berichten gewoon niet geupdate.

Ik las op het internet dat als je sim geactiveerd is, je push gewoon moet werken. Ik snap dus niet waarom hij niet werkt. Mijn vragen zijn dan:

- Hacktiveert Blackra1n RC3 mijn iPhone? (Ik hoef geen unlock en heb Blacksnow ook niet geinstalleerd)
- Hoe weet ik of mijn simkaart juist is geactiveerd? (Ik kan wel oproepen ontvangen, dus moet goed zijn toch?)
- Hoe kan ik push uittesten?

Ik heb het volgende probleem. Ik heb een iPhone 3G met fw 3.1.2 en hij is niet gejailbreaked.
Sinds een paar dagen krijg ik geen push berichten meer binnen. Ongeacht of ik op Wi-Fi of 3G zit. Ik heb mijn telefoon al een paar keer opnieuw opgestart. Bij instellingen staat overigens dat berichtgeving 'aan' staat.
Weet iemand hoe dit kan? Moet ik mijn telefoon herstellen?

Even een hele noob vraag, maar ik sta op het punt om mijn iPhone 3GS (T-mobile) te jailbreaken (ik denk met BlackRa1n, zit nl. onder OSX). Verlies ik hierbij de mogelijkheid om push notificaties te ontvangen???

Anders misschien toch maar niet jailbreaken..... :-S

Normaal gezien zal je die mogelijkheid NIET verliezen ;)

Push Notifications werkt niet met Wi-Fi wel 3G
 

Hallo, ik zal wel weer in de verkeerde groep zitten hier met mijn vraag maar wie weet.

Ik heb via Cydia "Push Fix & youtube"geinstalleerd zodat ik eindelijk eens ook push berichten kan krijgen.
Maar nu blijkt dat de push berichten niet werken als ik op Wi-Fi zit.
Wel als Wi-Fi is uitgeschakeld en op 3G zit.
Als ik dan nogmaals het progie installeer moet ik ook weer al mijn wachtwoorden voor Wi-Fi en email opnieuw instellen.
Maar als ik dat dan gedaan hebt dan werkt push weer niet.
Dus nogmaals installeren en Wi-Fi uitzetten.
Dan werkt het prima, maar ik wil ook van mijn Wi-Fi genieten.
Heeft iemand een oplossing en wie heeft er nog meer last van?

Ik meen dat Push gebruikt maakt van de snelste verbinding en wsl is dat in jouw geval dus je 3G. Daar is volgens mij geen oplossing voor.

ik ben van mening dat mijn Wi-Fi sneller is dat mijn 3G.
Speedtest geeft aan Wi-Fi 18MB -----3G 0,4MB
Dus dat is het niet.
Maar ik heb via cydia dus "Push Fix & youtube" geinstalleert, maar nu hoorde ik ook iets van alleen pushfix, alleen kan ik die niet vinden.

sinds vrijdag 13-11 werkt bij mij de push notification niet meer.
Op vrijdag kreeg ik een melding terwijl het programma al een half uur aan de gang was, en sinds dien is er helemaal geen push meer. hebben anderen dat ook?

Helaas ben ik dit ook al meermaals tegen gekomen,het staat duidelijk nog niet op punt.Ze gaan er toch een oplossing voor moeten vinden want anders heeft het niet veel zin meer om nog te gebruiken.

werkt push bij geen enkele applicatie ? dan dit te doen:

- notificatie instellingen checken
- reboten
- wi-fi aan/uit zetten
- eventueel netwerk settings resetten

Pushnotificaties op Iphone 3G.
 

Klopt het, dat wanneer je een gejailbreakte iPhone 3g hebt, je geen pushnotificaties kunt ontvangen?
Ik wil namelijk "pingen", maar wanneer ik dat opstart, zegt ie : Verbind met Itunes om pushberichtgeving te gebruiken. dan druk ik op OK en dan blijft ie maar connecteren... er gebeurd verder niets (ook niet wanneer ik hem verbind met Itunes).
Ik heb de nieuwste firmware, 3.1.2. Heeft iemand hier toevallig een oplossing voor of ditzelfde bericht gekregen?

Normaal kan dit niet aan een jailbreak liggen. Ik dacht dat dit wel door een unlock kan.
