Apple zal unlocken niet gedogen
 

Dat Apple het niet zal toelaten dat haar paradepaardje wordt unlocked, is vandaag door het bedrijf in niet mis te verstane bewoordingen kenbaar gemaakt :

"Apple has discovered that many of the unauthorized iPhone unlocking programs available on the Internet cause irreparable damage to the iPhone’s software, which will likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone software update is installed. Apple plans to release the next iPhone software update, containing many new features including the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store (Apple - iPod + iTunes), later this week. Apple strongly discourages users from installing unauthorized unlocking programs on their iPhones. Users who make unauthorized modifications to the software on their iPhone violate their iPhone software license agreement and void their warranty. The permanent inability to use an iPhone due to installing unlocking software is not covered under the iPhone’s warranty."

Wanneer later deze week firmware 1.1.1 uitkomt, kan je er gif op innemen dat de unlockte mobieltjes opnieuw dichtgetimmerd zullen worden. Oppassen dus dat je deze firmware niet installeert alvorens hij op zijn beurt weer is gehacked.

Vraag zal evenwel zijn of een nieuwe hack er snel zal komen. Her en der op het net is te lezen dat de nieuwe iPod Touch een ander systeem heeft, dat zeer moeilijk te kraken is. Tot op heden is het alleszins nog niet gelukt en hackers hebben al gezien dat het om een systeem gaat, dat nog moeilijker te omzeilen is dan deze van de huidige iPhone…

Hm ziet er dreigend uit... Of zou het alleen bedoeld zijn om ons af te schrikken? Iphone is toch weer gewoon te simlocken met simpel programmatje? Kunnen ze dan toch ook niks van zien dat je m ge-unlocked hebt? Naja we zullen t wel zien... :S

zolang je niet update zit je goed.. en binnen een maadn zal deze firmware wel weer gehackt zijn...

Yup, dreigende taal.. and that's all. :)

Bij de nieuwe firmaware is de iPhone weer gebricked??
 

Apple vice ceo heeft gesproken over de unlocked iPhone het komt hier op neer:

"Unlocked iPhones Bricked by new Updates?
Apple is reportedly saying they have "discovered that many of the unauthorized iPhone unlocking programs available on the Internet cause irreparable damage to the iPhone's software, which will likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone software update is installed."

What does this mean to all us unlocked iPhone users? It means do NOT update your firmware yet, is all. The update is due out this week sometime, and iTunes doesn't force you to update, so just don't. Within a few days, there will be a fix out for upgrading unlocked iPhone's to the new firmware, not to worry. Just make sure that when it first comes out, you don't do the update yet."

Ik was al bezig met een gids hoe dit te doen en zal deze handleidingen daarbij gaan gebruiken. MAAR WEEST GEWAARSCHUWD NIET UPDATEN VOORDAT ER MEER BEKEND IS VAN DE FIRMWARE UPDATE. ALS ER MEER BEKEND IS ZULLEN WE HET HIER VERTELLEN EN WAT TE DOEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Volgens mij is het volgende het geval: (ben geen technicus, gewoon logisch denken)
De software unlock die nu beschikbaar is patched de "baseband-chip" (hier zit dus blijkbaar de simlock in).

De firmware update die binnenkort komt is oa bedoeld voor internationale support, wat oa inhoud " het toestaan van O2, t-mobile simkaarten".

Hiervoor moet dus de "baseband-chip" door apple geupdate worden.

Dit kan dus conflicten geven met de unlocksoftware die ook met die chip rommelt.

Vandaar deze waarschuwing van Apple

Als er een nieuwe firmware beschikbaar komt via iTunes, dan is het restoren als start voor het unlocken dus automatisch voorlopig tevens het einde van het unlocken lijkt het dus? Iemand enig idee of iTunes gefopt kan worden teneinde voorlopig restores te doen met gebruikmaking van 1.0.2?

hier gaat een slotje op want dit is erg oud. ;)
