If you jailbroke and/or unlocked 1.1.3 then you virtual gps in google maps may not be working, either on Wi-Fi or edge...

Simply install “Locate Me” or “Navizon” from Installer. Locate where you are using either of this 2 softwares once, then open Google Maps and the virtual GPS function should work now.

after that you can uninstall the 3rd party app...
