Guide:

What files do I need?

- Jailbreak Software 1.1.2

- iPhone 1.1.1. firmware file (optional)
- iPhone Firmware v1.1.2 (optional)


1.1.2 Jailbreak

**** NOTE: This method currently requires you be on 1.1.1 of the firmware. If you are on 1.1.2
you must downgrade prior to being able to use this jailbreak. ****

**** NOTE: PLEASE NOTE THIS METHOD ONLY WORKS ON ITUNES ACTIVATED PHONES OR IPOD TOUCHES ****


Step 1: Downgrade to 1.1.1 (if required)
*** NOTE: errors 1015 is expected at the end of the process. Continue reading to understand. ***

1. Download the 1.1.1 ipsw firmware file from Apple. If the downloaded file has the extension
".zip", please remove it and modify it to end up with a filename ending in _Restore.ipsw

2. Reboot your iPhone holding the top (power) and home buttons BUT release the top button 10
seconds into it (right after the screen goes dark) and continue to hold the home button until
iTunes detects the phone in recovery mode. The iPhone screen will appear to be off, but start
iTunes if not started yet .

3. Restore your iPhone by pressing and holding the ‘Shift’ key on windows or ‘option’ key on Mac,
then click ‘restore’ to select the 1.1.1 firmware file you downloaded earlier. The restore should
go through and errors at the end with error 1015. However you will notice that the iphone is in
DFU mode with the connect to itunes screen from 1.1.1.

4. In order to kick the phone out of that mode I just had to launch iNdependence version 1.2.5
and wait a minute or so. If you are using iTunes 7.5 you will have to get a MobileDevice from a
previousv version in order to run Independence.

Step 2a: Jailbreak 1.1.1 on Unactivated iPhone
*** NOTE: If your phone has been activated through iTunes, you can proceed to step 2b. ***

1. enter *#307# press call, now use the back button on the top of your screen to remove *#307# ,
now enter 0 , press call, press answer, press hold, press decline. And you get to the contact
list. And thereafter every time you push the homebutton you just slide the "emergency call"
slide, then enter 0 , press call, press hold, press decline.

2. Push contacts, end call and you get called again, this time hit decline and you access one of
menus with favorites, you can edit contacts, do a test ride on keyboard, take photos etc.

3. Now edit a new contact and type in "prefs://1F" as web-address and "http://jailbreakme.com" as
an additional URL.

4. When you tap "prefs://11" you can now select your favorite Wi-Fi gateway.

5. Now press the home button and move the slider to the dial-pad.

6. Now you can go back to the contact list by Dialing 0, push call, then answer, then contacts,
then hit the "http://jailbreakme.com" web address you typed in.

7. Scroll down to the bottom, click "Install AppSnapp". Safari will exit and you'll return to your
springboard. Wait for the phone to reboot. You are now jailbroken. and are able to use
Installer.app.

Step 2b: Jailbreaking on iPod Touch or iTunes Activated iPhone

1. Launch Safari

2. Visit AppSnapp, Scroll down to the bottom, click "Install AppSnapp". Safari will
exit and you'll return to your springboard. Slide to unlock, you are now jailbroken. and are
able to use Installer.app.

Step 3: Prepare your 1.1.1 device for the Update

1. Launch Installer.app

2. Scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1)

3. Select OktoPrep

4. Click Install

Step 4: Update to 1.1.2

1. Connect your device to your computer

2. Launch iTunes

3. Choose your device

4. Click Update

5. Wait forever for your device to update

IF your iTunes does not show the new update:

1. Shift Click on the restore

2. Choose the v1.1.2 file that you downloaded (link @ the top)

3. Wait till its done.

Step 5: Jailbreak your iPhone

1. Close iTunes

2. Connect your device to your computer

3. On Windows, double click on windows.bat, on Mac, double click on osx

4. Follow the on screen instructions.

Step 6: Unlocking 1.1.2 (People reporting a lot of problems with anySIM...read the thread before proceeding)

1. Download AnySim 1.2 from here or get it from installer.app

Note: If you used installer.app to get anysim 1.2 then ignore step 2 and move on to step 3.

2. Open WinSCP and login using these details (ID- root / Pass- alpine) :



Note: Make sure your iPhone is connected to the same network (internet) as your main pc you are using for this step.

3. Run AnySim

4. Enjoy!

Dit wil ik binnenkort wel eens uitproberen. Heb nu de 1.0.2 firmwire met de 1.1.2 baseband. De baseband heb ik destijds kunnen unlocken met anysim 1.2, welke niet werkte met firmware 1.1.1.

Heeft iemand een link naar de originele pagina van hackingtosh (met source files), en e.v.t. comments op deze methode?

Voordat je dit doet moet je zeker eerst je 1.1.1 virginizen of niet?

Ik ga het morgen doen en ik ga eerst virginizen en geen risico's nemen ;-)
Voor iedereen die niet snapt wat er allemaal staat. Deze unlock en jailbreak methode niet doen. Blijf lekker zitten in 1.1.1

@Michael: Als het gelukt is dan horen we het graag, want dan ga ik ook upgraden naar 1.1.2. Maar hoe ga je je 1.1.1 virginizen dan?

ik wacht ook nog ff op michael (en moet ook nog 25 pagina's (voornamelijk domme) reacties op hackint0sh doorploeteren voordat ik er uberhaupt aan begin)
overigens... virginisen? dus weer eerst naar 1.0.2? doe normaal man, ik zou wel alle 3rd party apps erafgooien en dan oktoprep draaien maar ok.

oh en tip van het 1e stuk doorploeteren: zorg dat je upgrade naar 1.1.2 en niet restored anders ben je oktoprep ook kwjt en ben je de l^l in 1.1.2 en zorg dat je de nieuwste anysim scoort (blijkbaar zijn er 2 1.2's en moet je 1.2u hebben ofzo, de een zegt dat die alleen andere plaatjes heeft de ander van niet... ik zou het zekere voor het onzekere nemen)

Mij nog niet in ieder geval, heb al moeite zat om hem weer met 1.1.1 aan de gang te krijgen. Tot overmaat van ramp ligt nullriver er ook nog uit volgens mij...

Nightmare: just spent 4 hours to recover my baseband

Yeap.... somehow durring my last restore from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 (thru 1.0.2 to clean up the baseband) something went wrong. After 1 hour configuring my phone under 1.1.1 (I will wait till a real lockdownd is availlable) Wi-Fi turned off, and so did Bluetooth and the whole baseband.

Then the "Check www.apple.com/support" message came!!! Arrrgggh....
And it was a major nightmare to get it to restore properly (I was about to give up and decided to take another run on it). All sorts of errors during restore and attempting to ierase/bbupdate.

So my advice: if you can't spare your phone, do not try upgrading to 1.1.2 yet. I was lucky and I have a brand new phone in the box (firmware 1.0.2) that is being kept as a christmas present for my wife.... I can use it in case of an "emergency"

Lijkt me verstandig, ik heb nu 1.1.1 er weer op staan, maar hij slikt geen enkele simkaart. Ben het nu maar aan het proberen met anysim 1.2.1u

Hmm, ook al geen succes. Hij leest mij kaart wel, maar ik krijg No Service :(

Ik ben er uit denk ik, als je de guide op onderstaande site volgt kun je je iPhone weer terug flashen naar 1.02, updaten naar 1.1.1 en dan zou het weer moeten werken.

Bij mij gaat het tot nog toe goed, alleen nog ff bsd en openssh installeren, en dan maar hopen dat ik hem weer kan unlocken...

P.s. met een downgrade naar 1.02 en de goede lockdownd deed hij het ook weer, maar het is toch een sport om het weer helemaal terug te krijgen zoals het was :)

Las op Hackint0sh in diezelfde thread op p11/12 dat het beltoetsenbord niet werkt (je kan maar 1 cijfer intikken?).

Ik wacht mooi ff af: een goede hack zal er ongetwijfeld snel zijn, en wat voor extra's levert 1.1.2 op? Misschien verbeterde SMS ontvangst, maar daar kan ik wel een paar dagen extra op wachten: beter onleesbare SMS-jes dan helemaal geen SMS :D

Ik zal een soort van semi live verslag geven Ben nu upgedate naar 1.1.2. Nu moet ik weer terug naar 1.0.2 om anySim 1.2u te draaien. Keep your fingers crosst ;-)
