Ik ben van plan mijn 1.1.1 iPhone 04.01.13_G unlocked met anysim 1.1.
Nu wil ik dus upgraden naar 1.1.2. Alleen loop ik tegen een aantal zaken aan, zo heb ik me op verschillende forums ingelezen waar telkens iets anders wordt gezegd. Dit zijn de (tegenstrijdige) bevindingen:

Op HackthatiPhone: Hack that Phone - Jailbreaking a new iPhone on OS X
Staat dat wanneer je al op 1.1.1 gejailbreaked en geunlocked iPhone zit kan je de volgende stappen uitvoeren:

-Launch the Installer and go to Tweaks 1.1.1 and install OktoPrep.
-Launch iTunes and follow the screens to set up your iPhone as a new phone.
-Press Option and click the Update button to install 1.1.2. Point the file browser window at the 1.1.2 firmware restore file on your computer. If you receive an error 6 message, restore to 1.1.1 and try again.
-Eject the iPhone from iTunes when the update has completed, then close iTunes.
-Download the 1.1.2 jailbreak program here. Run the program. At the end, turn off the iPhone and then turn it on. It will again reboot automatically. You are now jailbroken and activated on 1.1.2. You can continue to follow the rest of the tutorials on this site.

Op Hacint0sh staat echter het volgende vermeld:
[How To] Unlocked 1.1.1 -> Update to 1.1.2 -> Unlock with AnySIM1.2.1u - Hackint0sh
If U have a working 1.1.1/04.01.13_G iPhone unlocked with AnySIM 1.1 this is what u need to do:

1. Run Oktoprep via Installer
2. Update to 1.1.2 via iTunes, after update leave iPhone connected till iTunes "see it" then close iTunes.
3. Jailbreak (http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip)
3.a Install BSD Subsystem via Installer
4. In Installer add rep.frenchiphone.com or hacktheiphone.com/1.xml to your installer source and then Install AnySIM 1.2.1u from the installer. Reboot iPhone!
5. Put the iPhone in Airplane Mode!!! Run AnySIM1.2.1u! After its completed, go to Settings--->Airplane Mode set to OFF, now u will get a signal bars!
6. !!! IMPORTANT !!!
If u're outside US, SMS and Phone will NOT work,right away tho. To "FIX IT" install iWorld via Installer(in Tweaks 1.1.2), run it, choose your country, reboot(do it manualy if auto doesn't work)

De tutorial van iClarified komt overeen met hackthatiphone waarin eerst naar 1.1.1 wordt gedowngrade.

Nu constateer ik de volgende tegenstrijdigheden:

-In de methode van Hacint0sh moet er na de upgrade naar 1.1.2 nog een unlock worden uitgevoerd via AnySIM1.2.1u. Echter is mijn iphone al geunlocked in 1.1.1. dus lijkt me dit overbodig?

-In de methode van Hackthatphone en iClarified wordt er eerst een downgrade gedaan naar 1.1.1. en vervolgens opnieuw geupgrade naar 1.1.2, en dan de jailbreak uitgevoerd.

Nu weet ik dus niet of ik gelijk kan beginnen met oktopreppen en jailbreaken zonder eerst te downgraden naar 1.1.1?
En wanneer ik niet downgrade maar direct naar 1.1.2 upgrade of ik dan Anysim1.2.1 wel of niet moet draaien na de upgrade naar 1.1.2?

Wie helpt mij verder?
