Iphone backup locatie
 

Hallo daar,

Op werk heb ik wat problemen met itunes 9.1.1.12 . Wij draaien hier windows xp pro sp3 werkstations met windows server 2003. Itunes is geinstalleerd op de computers die een iphone hebben. Echter de backups worden geschreven naar de lokale profielen op de computer.

Hierdoor lopen de profielen vol en kunnen de gebruikers niet meer uitloggen. De max die we kunnen toestaan is 300mb, maar van sommige gebruikers loop dit nogal ver op. Is de locatie waar itunes zijn backups opslaat te wijzigen?

c:\Documents and Settings\<gebruiker>\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

niemand hier een oplossing voor?

However, you can use a feature of NTFS to point that folder to another drive. This feature is typically called a "junction" or "symbolic link".

You can use this tool to create a junction:

For example, let's say you want your iPhone backup to be D:\backup. You would do this:

1. close iTunes
2. Move the folder c:\documents and settings\user\application data\apple computer\mobile sync\backup to D:\
3. Extract the junction.zip to the Desktop.
4. Open a command prompt and enter these commands:
cd Desktopjunction "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\Mobile Sync\Backup" D:\backup
NOTE 1: Change "username" to match your current username, of course.

NOTE 2: I did not test the above! In general, junction points work OK, but only if programs don't mess with the linked directory (like rename or remove it). For example, if iTunes does something like delete the ...\Mobile Sync\Backup directory and then recreate it, it will no longer go to the D:\backups folder.


Dit werkte perfect.

Update:

Helaas bleek het niet zo te werken zoals ik had gehoopt. Contact met apple opgenomen en de engineers zullen naar dit probleem kijken. Hopen dat ze nu een optie maken in de volgende itunes.

Ik probeerde ook op deze manier mijn reservekopie te junctionen, maar na het invoeren van deze commando krijg ik de melding: "de syntaxis van de bestandsnaam, mapnaam of volumenaam is onjuist"...

Heeft iemand hier een oplossing voor?
