Ik moet vrijdag in London zijn.
Kan ik daar een (of meerdere) iPhone(s) kopen? Of moet je als je hem koopt ook een abonnement afsluiten bij O2?
En kan ik daar ook cash betalen? Of moet dat met creditcard?

Vrijdag is het wel de 9e ja en de verkoop start om 18.02 als het goed is.
Volgens mij moet je wel een abbonement afsluiten voor zover ik heb gehoord of los toestel zal wel extreem duur zijn anders, maar ben ook wel benieuwd.

Niemand weet dit nog. Dus David, zou je het ons willen laten weten vanuit de UK? Eerlijk gezegt verwacht ik dat het moeilijker gaat als in de US, neem aan dat ze daarvan geleerd hebben.

Ik las op hackint0sh dat in de UK dezelfde procedure gebruikt wordt als in de US, dus thuis pas je abonnement afsluiten. Alleen in Duitsland is dit anders, daar moet je het abonnement in de winkel afsluiten.

Bedenk wel dat er een grote kans is dat de Europese iPhones een nieuwe firmware versie bevatten (1.1.2).

Ja dat ze ervan geleerd hebben, zou kunnen. Maar ze kunnen er natuurlijk ook voor kiezen he, want verkopen ze wel nóg meer Iphones. Dus op zich vinden ze het misschien niet zo erg dat er gehackt word.
Oke, dat zou wel mooi zijn. Meer aanbod wellicht ook hier.

Als je wil laten weten hoe 't daar gaat...
als je ze gewoon kunt kopen daar en thuis activeren...
dan kan ik zo wat ritjes plannen om op en neer te gaan :)

Ik ga er van uit dat er 1.1.2 op zal staan, maar ik ga er ook van uit dat dit binnen de kortste keren geen probleem meer zal zijn.

Once you've got your iPhone, the next thing to do is activate it. This couldn't be simpler. All you have to do is enter into an 18 month Pay Monthly minimum term contract with O2 on one of our exclusive iPhone tariffs. These start at just £35 a month.
You need to be over 18, pass a credit check and have a bank account for the monthly online debit payments. If you already have an iTunes account, perfect. If you have to create one, you'll need a debit or credit card. And an email address you access regularly because billing is online only.
You sign up for your Pay Monthly airtime agreement as part of the activation process so just make sure that you have this information to hand when you are ready to activate your iPhone.

If you're an O2 customer billed by Carphone Warehouse, or you have a mobile phone with another network, you'll need to contact them to obtain a "PAC code" in order to transfer your number to your iPhone.
This process may take up to five working days to complete.
Please be aware that PAC codes are only valid for 30 days.

Can I "unlock" the iPhone and use it with another network?

iPhone is restricted to use on the O2 network unless you are roaming. If you do not enter into and remain in an airtime agreement with O2 on one of our tariffs for iPhone, you will not be able to use the phone functionality of your iPhone.

If you attempt to unlock iPhone and use on another network, it may become permanently unusable. Making unauthorised modifications to the software on your iPhone violates the iPhone software license agreement, and the inability to use your iPhone due to unauthorized software modifications is not covered under your iPhone's warranty.

Consumer Customers

You'll need to start a new 18 month minimum term contract and pay for your iPhone handset but you can keep your existing number. So everyone will know it's you when you call them to brag.

• If you became an O2 customer or upgraded on or before 18th September 2007
  You can switch to an O2 tariff for iPhone without paying any remaining monthly charges on your existing contract.
• If you joined or upgraded after 18th of September 2007
  You have a choice, you can either:
  
  (i) Enter into a second pay monthly contract whilst keeping your existing contract; or
  
  (ii) Start a new contract by paying a one-off transfer charge of £219 instead of the remaining monthly charges on your existing contract.
  
  O2 Simplicity and O2 Pay & Go customers will not be required to pay any additional charges.

Tsjah, dat was in Amerika net zo denk ik. Ze zeggen gewoon dat het zou kunnen dat ie niet meer werkt en dat je geen garantie meer hebt. Boeiend...
Lijkt me dus dat ie wel weer te hacken is.
Maar begrijp ik het ook goed dat je hem dus kan kopen zonder gelijk een abonement af te moeten sluiten? Je moet hem (thuis?) activeren dus?

activeren moet thuis, maar contract afsluiten in de winkel, als ik het niet verkeerd begrepen heb allemaal.. maar weet het ook niet zeker..:confused:

misschien moet je er echt gewoon geweest zijn en geprobeerd hebben om het te weten

Ik denk dat de registratie op dezelfde manier werkt als in de US. Althans, dat is wat ik uit dit filmpje opmaak.

Mijn vermoeden wordt versterkt door het feit dat je ook online een iPhone kan bestellen.

Je bent in de UK wel verplicht om met een creditcard te betalen. Zou het kunnen dat niet-UK kaarten niet aanvaard worden?

volgensmij is dit alleen de activatie voor apple, en moet je het contract voor het abbonement gewoon in de winkel invullen zoals dit ook in nederland gaat

Waarom zou je dan tijdens de activatie het type abonnement moeten kiezen?

ik denk om te controleren dat je hem icm. dat abbonement gekocht hebt enzo

het gaat dus volgenmijs ook idd zoals in de VS nu nog erop wachten dat hij fatsoenlijk geunlocked kan worden :)

Vrijdag iPhone gekocht in Apple Store op Regent Street. Het was absoluut geen probleem, er is niet over een abonnement gerept.
Ik weet nu wel nog niet of er al een oplossing is om hem te Jailbreaken of te unlocken. Weet iemand daar al iets over?
