Overclock iPhone and iPod Touch CPU Speed

Je overclockt de iPhone niet, je haalt de begrenzer er af . Ik heb geen idee hoe hoog hij gaat als je dat bestand verwijderd maar volgens meerdere fora gaat hij dan naar 600 mhz (de 3g).

Heb het nu al een tijdje er op zitten en hij blijft gewoon koud als ik een spelletje speel dat veel moet laden.. dus al die verhalen over koeling slaan naar mijn mening nergens op aangezien die warmte geproduceerd wordt door internet gebruik..

Alles laad ieder geval een stuk sneller en wat levensduur van de batterij betreft heb ik niet echt het gevoel dat deze er sneller doorheen gaat..

Jawel hoor batterij gaat stuk sneller leeg bij mij. Dus maar weer terug gezet. Geen meerwaarden voor mij.

Waar merk je dat hij sneller leeg gaat dan? Bij het gebruiken van de iPhone of bij bv. standby?

ik heb nog iets gevonden (in engels) over hoe te overclocken.ik heb het zelf niet geprobeerd, dus ik doe niet aan ondersteuning.

Ok they said it's so hard to find out how it's impossible (and I'm not sure that this is overclocking but it makes it faster!!)!!!
If your worried about overclocking them look apple makes them to last 10-15 years!
And overclocking WILL make them run out faster but that means down to 5-10 years! And if you still have the same device in 5 years why are u on a jailbreaking iPod site?

Step one:
Connect to your iPhone via SSH

Step Two:
Navigate to this directory on your iPhone:
/System/Library/SystemConfiguration/PowerManagement.bundle
and copy this file to your desktop or a folder of your choosing.

Note: Save an extra copy somewhere else on your computer just in case things go sour.

Step Three:
Open the file you just downloaded on your computer using notepad or a text editing program. You will see what looks like alien symbols and wierd text characters. There is only one series of numbers that you will be editing in this text document. by default look for "457" without the quotes. I set it to 533 and have not had any problems. You can test these numbers as these reflect the mhz clock of your iPhone.

NOTE: Do not add any spaces or characters other than the clock speed of your choosing.

Step Four:
Save the document under the exact same name as you opened it. Its just easier to hit "Save" without modifying the name of the file.

Step Five
If using WinSCP, just drag and drop the file in the exact directory that you copied thus overwritting the original. If you followed my recommendation to save an extra of the original file then you are covering your ass at this point.

Step Six
Disconnect from SSH and restart your phone by holding the power/sleep button till the slider shows to turn off your device. turn it back on and enjoy your iPhones new life and speed. Just note that the battery will drain faster as more Mhz require more power.

Tips and Tricks

- If you want to change or revert back the speed just change the numbers in the same fashion under the same file.

- Keep your iPhone charged when possible and turn off any unused services (Location Services, Wi-Fi, 3G)

- It is possible to further underclock your phone for better battery life at the price of unknown performance.

Als ik hier naar toe probeer te gaan: /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/PowerManagement.bundle, geeft hij de volgende foutmelding: no such file or directory. Wat doe ik fout?

Je doet niets fout Die bundle bestaat niet meer. Als je wil gaan knoeien moet je dat nu doen in PowerManagement.plist in /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreMIDI.framework
